I am asking this in men's health cos I don't think it is a beauty issue.

Anyway, does shaving head help grow stronger hair? What should I do to keep strong hair and prevent it from thinning? Any suggestions or links will be appreciated. Thanks!

What comes back w/ seem thicker %26amp; stronger. But that's just because it's new. As it grows out, it'll start wearing %26amp; breaking off %26amp; when it reaches the length it is now, it'll look the same.

Conditioning %26amp; how you treat it w/ improve it. I used ot use olive oil, I'd put it on my hair %26amp; leave it, w/ a plastic bag over my head, covered by a bandana for a few hours.

My hair grew down to my thighs while doing that %26amp; it'd only been mid back before.

Another thing I did was to change the way I washed my hair. No more piling on my head. I brushed it befor eI got in the shower %26amp; washed it w/ a hair brush. I brushed the shampoo thru my hair. Cleaned the brush at the same time! :)

I'm not sure if it comes back thicker...but definitely stronger and healthier...it's like having a new start.

well it depends on some people . sometimes people have really thin hair and then after they shave thicker hair grows. and for somepeople its the opposite. so u just try shaving it

Try using shampoos that don't have many chemicals in them, it is better for your hair and also get your hair trimmed every so often to keep the dead ends off and to make it healthier and stronger. But I wouldn't shave it (unless you have a bald spot already then shave and it won't be as likely to notice it, it will just look like a shaved head.) Good luck.

No, that's a myth. It doesn't grow back thicker, it just seems thicker cuz it is just cut. Hair growth is all about genetics. I know guys who are in their early-20's who can't grow facial hair who have been shaving almost daily since they were 17 to try to get it to grow thicker with no positive results.
